Guest Safety
Safety Devices / Items
The residence is equipped with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers under the sink and in the laundry room along with a small first aid kit in the main bathroom pantry. There are two exterior security cameras facing the upper and lower parking area. There are no cameras in the interior of the residence.
Safety Considerations
The residence may not be a good fit for younger children as child safety features are not in place and there are multiple levels inside and outside the residence. The residence is 2-stories and guests will need to climb a staircase during their stay. Although there is no direct access from the property it is noted that the Yakima River is across the road from the property. The residence is in a rural area at the base of Red Mountain where wildlife is present. Coyotes reside on the mountain and the nearby vineyards, and occasionally a coyote has made its presence known by visiting the back deck. There is no need to be concerned but be diligent and aware of your surroundings.
Property Information
Things to be aware of about the property, surrounding area and noise. We are located in a rural area and noises from wildlife, distant livestock, and agricultural machinery may be heard when are outside. During the spring and early summer, the back yard is full of birds & early morning songs.
There is a lovable 3+-year-old black lab, Bacchus, residing on the property. His biggest joy in life is fetching a frisbee, getting human love, sunbathing and poking around the yard. He does not often bark other than to alert others of incoming guests. He regularly interacts with new people and typically does not jump. He can be unattended in the fenced in backyard; however, if he is roaming in open areas on the property he will usually be with one of his dads. Bacchus has limited access to sleeping rooms in the primary residence even when it is not being rented.
Other sounds you might hear in the primary residence is the HVAC system, water heater and water softener. The homes HVAC fan is constantly runny to assist with an even temperature throughout the 1st and 2nd floors. The HVAC system uses geothermal technology, meaning it flushes water from the well through the HVAC system when the A/C or heat turn on. It is likely you will hear what sounds like rushing water while it runs. The water heater is a hybrid system and while it heats water a fan runs. When the water softener recharges there will be sounds of rushing water. This occurs approximately once a day but depends on water usage.
Please be respectful of the neighbors. Please drive at a low speed while driving up to the property on the easement road and keep outside noise to a minimum after 10PM. Thank you in advance.
